The MLS lists 5,096 two-unit to four-unit multifamily home sales in 2011. Some buyers purchased these homes to do a condominium conversion, some purchased to live in one unit and rent out the others, and some may have even purchased for investment. I have omitted the sales that had a commercial piece to them and attached a list of the top 10 highest sales for residential below.
